A new website for a distinctive place.

Senamiesčio erdvė is a private house in the centre of Rokiškis, Lithuania, available for small celebrations, gatherings and overnight stays. The client needed a completely new website to explain what made the place different, who it suited and how to book it online.

The audience included local people and international visitors. Alongside the house, the website needed to introduce Rokiškis and help guests find things to do. The client also wanted a distinctive design and a fast website.

About a month of work.

The project included discussing the offer, dedicated photo shoots, filming, design, development and content.

One complete project.

We handled the logo, visual identity, photography, video and website together.

The rental model came before the website.

The hardest part was advising on the rental model, pricing and how to present the property. This needed to be settled before the website could explain the offer clearly.

The owner’s original vision and prices changed considerably after our visit, photography and filming. Seeing the place in person made it easier to judge the groups it would suit and the offer a guest could understand.

I helped shape a realistic presentation of the whole house as a private space for one group, distinguishing the gathering space from the sleeping accommodation and explaining the rental price and terms. The website structure followed that model.

Visitors therefore see a clear offer: what they get, how many people it suits and what they can use it for.

Original photography and a design for the property.

I created the logo, visual identity and bespoke website design. The colours, typography and image layouts respond to the real interior, its materials, furniture and lighting.

We also handled photography and filming. Dedicated shoots captured the character and small details that distinguish the property from other rental listings.

Video in the opening section.

Moving footage introduces the atmosphere immediately. The main information and booking form stay in front of it, so visitors can act without having to look elsewhere.

I used my own gallery system for photos and videos. Photographs open in an enlarged overlay, often called a lightbox, so visitors can inspect details and return to the same place on the page.

A booking system built for this business.

I developed the booking system from scratch for this venue. Guests choose arrival and departure dates, select their group size and begin their booking directly on the website.

1. The guest sends a request.

They select dates and enter the booking details.

2. The owner has one hour.

The owner confirms or rejects the request within an hour. Without confirmation, the dates become available to others again.

3. Payment is due within 48 hours.

Once confirmed, the venue is held for 48 hours so the guest can make a bank transfer.

4. The owner marks it as paid.

The owner checks that the transfer has arrived and records the payment in the system.

We chose this approach to keep the owner’s work straightforward. Booking confirmations and payment information are emailed automatically, while a person checks receipt of the bank transfer. The chosen workflow did not require an automatic bank or card-payment integration.

Email notifications are in use today.

The owners do not use Booking.com, Airbnb or other external calendars, so these connections were not part of the launch. A phone app with push notifications is a possible later addition if the volume of bookings makes it worthwhile.

Content for the stay and the town around it.

The Lithuanian and English versions serve different audiences. English content was rewritten for international guests, explaining the offer, booking process and practical details in language that makes sense to them.

Reasons to visit Rokiškis.

I built an article system and wrote content about the town, places to visit, activities and events. It helps guests plan the whole visit rather than simply choose somewhere to sleep.

The guide also adds useful search content connected to the house and the questions guests ask. I continue to write articles and help promote the website.

Practical tools for the owner.

I structured the content management around everyday tasks: changing text and images, publishing articles, updating partners and managing reservations. These tasks do not require redesigning the page.

My own plugins.

The project uses my tools for galleries, SEO and AI search preparation, image optimisation, cookieless statistics and spam protection.

Enquiries and contact.

A dedicated form, phone and email links give guests a way to ask questions before they book.

Fast performance and clear content were part of the brief from the start. Image optimisation helps balance extensive visual material with practical use on a phone.

Bookings for stays and photo shoots.

Since launch, the project has received many bookings and photo-shoot enquiries. Guests have travelled from Vilnius specifically for photo shoots combined with an overnight stay.

This is feedback from the project, rather than an analytics report or an exact count of bookings attributable to the website. It shows that the property’s character appeals beyond its immediate local audience.

The work continues.

I continue to maintain the website, write articles and help promote it. Further features can follow actual demand, including phone notifications or connections to external booking platforms.

The result brings a clear rental offer, original visual material and practical booking management into one website.
